What to expect
Visiting a new church can be one of the most intimidating experiences in life. We want to explore spirituality and find some friends, but you never can tell what is going to happen when you go through the door.
At LCC we have been there. We are a new church ourselves, and we remember our first visit.
We meet in a historic building right now that dates to just after the Civil War. It can be a bit intimidating, but inside you will find friendly people.
People of all kinds of backgrounds, races, histories, and styles call LCC their home, so you will find someone like you. We really don't care how you look, we just want you to experience our family at LCC. Dress as casual as you want to. Most of us will be in t-shirts and jeans.
When you get to our building, park on either side (the gravel lot has more room) and enter through any of the four doors. There are doors on both sides and two on the front of the building.
Remember, everyone is fairly new here, so relax and pretend like you know where you are going. If someone doesn't greet you, just stop anyone and ask questions.
Inside the building, you will find a cafe type atmosphere. There will be coffee, popcorn, snacks, and a party atmosphere. We like to have fun, so don't expect boring ritual.
The service is usually a few upbeat, positive songs followed by some practical teaching that you can use. Expect the service to last about an hour.
We won't put you on the spot or single you out, but we do believe you will leave with some practical faith, new friends, and a huge feeling of hope.
If all of this seems too intimidating, contact us and we will find someone to meet you when you arrive to help you fit in fast. You might also try attending one of our other events or a home group to help you ease into life at LCC.
